How to Contribute to a Liquid Book

All 'books' in the Culture Machine Liquid Books series are published under the conditions of both open editing and free content. As such, you are free to annotate, tag, edit, add to, remix, reformat, reversion, reinvent and reuse any of the books in the series - and what's more you are invited and encouraged to do so. (We would appreciate it if you would tell us about it if you do so away from this site.)

The wiki you are currently reading has been set up to expressely facilitate such experimention. It provides you with read/write access to all the volumes in the Liquid Books series. You also have the ability to comment on, respond to, and debate with the text of these books, the authors, and other readers using the 'Add a comment' feature (see below).

To contribute to a liquid book, all you need to do is click on 'Request Access' on top of the Sidebar on the right. We will then reply to you with an email letting you know you have been given read/write access to all the books in the series.

To contribute to a particular volume in the series, click on its title - a full list of the volumes in the series is provided for you on the Sidebar. That will take you straight to that particular book's front page. There you will find a list of the pages that make up that volume.

Then, once you have found the page you want to edit, all you need to do is click on the Edit button at the top left-hand side of the page. You will now be able to edit and otherwise contribute to the page as easily as editing a Word document, say. It's as simple as that.

The main thing to remember is you need to click on the Save button at the bottom left-hand side of the screen as soon as you have finished editing, just to make sure any changes you have made are kept.
